Elaine Godden is a contemporary artist based in Cairns, Far North Queensland. With an Honours Degree in Prehistory from the University of Sydney and a Masters Degree in Gallery Management from the University of New South Wales, Elaine combines her interest in archaeology, ethnography, and material culture through her art practice. A strong interest in communication and connection sees Elaine approach her wearable artwork as a way of writing a message to the viewer. The use of found objects including typewriters and paper within her jewellery connects the viewer to this notion of messages, in a non-linear manner. Elaine has exhibited in institutional galleries across Queensland. Her work is featured in private collections nationally.
